Problem
Timer on dryer was faulty.

Repair & Advice
The knob on the dryer controlling the timer was breaking. Through research and only after replacing the knob several times, I found out the the mechanism on the timer was difficult to turn causing the knob to crack and become useless. Other people were having the same problem. I first looked at GE's website. They wanted $105 for the part.
I had ordered some other items from PartsDr and looked at their price. It was $40 cheaper. Not a difficult decision to make. The part arrived in a GE parts box. Same product different vendor. It was a simple install. Just match the wires from the old to the new. My advice would be to stay away from GE. Their customer service is lacking.

The timer was easy to access and remove. Make sure you track which wire goes to which input as there are many.
