Repair & Advice
After having our GE dishwasher for only four years, we began to see the lower rack was faulty. The coating on the rack was deteriorating and the exposed metal was rusting; to the point that actual prongs were breaking off. According to GE the part had been replaced with a new upgraded version. However, the actual part was out of stock. I reached out to GE via email, and was advised a date when the item would be available for purchase. The date came, and the item was still unavailable. Frustrated, and needing to remedy this problem, I found the exact (upgraded) part through Partsdr.com. The price was comparable to GE, the online transaction was easy and seamless, and the part arrived on time, as expected.

Repair & Advice
Bottom dishwasher rack rusted over the years the point the tines were falling off. A new rack was needed. The replacement rack relocates the silverware to the right side, but it's no big deal. In fact, I think the dishwasher may now hold more dishes with the new design.
