Problem
The dishwasher would not start-wouldn’t register that the door was closed.
Tools
Screwdriver and sockets.
Repair & Advice
I tried changing out the door switch but still no luck. After searching some more it was recommended to change out the main control board underneath the door. Very easy! About 6 total screws and five simple plugs and it was out. One grounding screw and 4 pins to remove the board. Total time was about 30 minutes and it’s running like normal again. Thanks Part Dr.

Problem
GE dishwasher (GDT695SSJ0SS) would not start.
Tools
1/4 inch & 5/16 inch nut drivers; needle nose pliers.
Repair & Advice
Our 3-year old GE dishwasher would not start. We had a repairman come out earlier in the summer, and I paid him $85 to basically reset the dishwasher, and everything was fine. But he did say if it happens again, the problem would probably be the main circuit board. When it wouldn't start again, I tried resetting it (unplugging). When that didn't work, I bought this main circuit board from Parts Dr. I found a video on youtube from another repair parts site, and used 1/4 inch & 5/16 inch nut drivers to install the new board. The board was pretty accessible at the bottom of the dishwasher, and the repair took about 30 minutes. Good as new!
