Problem
Dishwasher was leaking under the door.
Tools
My fingernails.
Repair & Advice
I read the review from your site mentioning the parts needed to fix the problem. I screwed off the vent cover and used my fingernails to push down the seal. Some manipulation was needed to move it around but I got it in there intact. I screwed on the vent cover and I was done. It works perfectly, even better than it has over a year (the seal was deteriorating over time). I didn't have to take the door apart, it took exactly 6 minutes (that's including opening the package!), and I saved $241. Which the cost the GE tech quoted to fix it. My husband was very pleased!

Problem
My dishwasher was leaking from the bottom left corner . In trouble shooting mode I wanted to change the vent seal because it was a common issue found through internet search on GE appliances .
Tools
Needle nose plaids
Repair & Advice
I attempted to use needle nose pliers to remove the old vent seal directly from the door but was unsuccessful and the old vent seal crumbled and fell inside the door in the process ( this was a method that previously found success in the comments for this product.)
My husband and I then spent the good
Majority of the day learning how to disassemble the dishwasher door and all its parts to change the vent seal . And .? The issue wasn’t solved but the good news was , we checked it off our trouble shooting list and moved on to change the gasket ( which was the problem all along in our case ).
We ordered both parts from this site all the ease of use of the site and speedy shipping will have us coming back for future repair parts . Thankful for this resource and excellent customer service .

Problem
Dishwasher leaking from door - internal vent seal/cap would not stay in place.
Tools
Needle nosed pliers.
Repair & Advice
I replaced the seal at the inside door vent on my GE dishwasher. The new seal is a different feel and material from the old seal. I did NOT need to disassemble the door, simply removed the vent cover (unscrews by hand) and used some needle nosed pliers to gently pull the old seal out of its recessed location. The new seal was more than flexible enough for me to 'cram' it into the old seal's location. I also bought a new vent cover #PD00043091 which fit perfectly. All leaks are gone - i've run the dishwasher at least a dozen times since the repair. Total repair time was roughly 6 minutes including unpacking parts and locating correct needle nosed pliers.
