Problem
Ice maker not working. Error code E2.
Tools
1/4 deep well socket and ratchet. Flat blade screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
My ice maker stopped working. After watching a video on Parts Dr I learned how to retrieve the error codes for my ice maker and confirmed it was a bad ice maker. I ordered a new ice maker from Parts Dr and after watching another video on Parts Dr I replaced the ice maker in about 30 minutes total and it was making ice in a few hours. Saved a lot of money.

Repair & Advice
This has been an easy DIY. With the help of Parts Dr video, I was able to save lots of $$$ by installing a new ice maker unit on my Whirlpool. The part was easy to order. It was intimidating at first however, the step by step clear instructions were awesome. I would definitely by from Parts Dr again if needed! This was also a genuine part so the it was like for like!

Problem
Ice maker wasn’t producing ice. I checked the error codes and found out the ice maker motor had lost position.
Tools
The only tools I used were a small flathead screwdriver, quarter inch ratchet, and I think it was a quarter inch socket
Repair & Advice
So after determining that I needed to replace the ice maker I watched a few videos and did my research for the right part. I’ve never attempted to repair a refrigerator before but I am an extremely competent diy guy and after seeing a few videos I decided that it would be an easy repair, which it was. It took about 30-45 minutes to do the part swap. The video on this site was very good and should easily help anyone wanting to do the repair. I think my fridge may be a little newer or a little older than the one in the video because there was no black cover where the water lines were. The water lines were just push fittings so very easy to disconnect and reconnect. My part came extremely fast, I think it was less than 2 days. It was a genuine whirlpool part and it was priced well. Remember to unplug fridge for a few minutes after reinstalling the new part if you still get an error code.
