Problem
Refrigerator Interior LED lights flicker or do not light.
Tools
Putty Knife.
Repair & Advice
My refrigerator was a 2 year old Kitchen Aid but I believe it is similar to other models such as from Whirlpool. My refrigerator has 9 LED light fixtures. 8 are in the refrigerator section. One is in the freezer. The 4 top ones are in series. The 4 side ones and the freezer one are in series. If any of the LEDs fail with an open circuit the other ones in the series will also go dark. If any of the LEDs fail with a short circuit only that LED will go dark. I had one of them fail with an intermittent open circuit. Whenever you opened the door you would be greeted by a strobe light flickering effect. Some months later a different LED failed with a short circuit. That LED went dark but the others stayed on. The replacement is available as a set of 4 or 5 and is rather pricy. I ordered a single LED fixture. For the shorted one that was dark it was easy to know which one to replace because it was the only one that was not lit. When all 4 or 5 are either dark or flickering you have to swap them out one at a time to find the bad one. Mine was the last one I tried and it was in the roof of the freezer compartment. You don't have to disassemble the covers. You can pry the LED fixture out of the cover with a putty knife. They are just pressed into the hole. You have to use A LOT of force to pry them out. Don't worry. You should use more force that you think you should. Once it is out you can unplug it and plug in the new one. If it doesn't fix your problem the put the old one back in and move on to the next one. Sometimes the manufacturing process causes excessive foam insulation to cover the wire and plug. You may not be able to unplug the old one. Save that one for last in case it's good and move on to the other ones. If swapping out the other ones don't fix it you can cut the wires on the one you skipped and use the splices provided with the new LED to connect the wires of the new LED to the wires going into the refrigerator. Follow the included directions. If you reverse the wires it won't work. I have ordered LEDs from PartsDr.com twice. Both times ordering was easy and the part arrived quickly.

Problem
Freezer light was not working.
Tools
Flathead screwdriver and small flat edge spatula.
Repair & Advice
Had to replace led light behind the ice maker. Light was hard to get to and also hard to get the right angle to remove the light from the ceiling freezer. Had to use a flathead screwdriver (tape the flat head with scotch tape to protect the finish of the freezer ceiling) to pry the LED light and then inserted the flat edge spatula to push the 3 lips that hold one edge of the LED light in place. Repeat the process on the other side.
