Repair & Advice
1. De-energize the electrical breaker or unplug the power cord.
2. Remove oven door.
3. Remove the oven racks.
4. Unscrew 4 screws holding the grille cover over the fan. Use a Philips head screwdriver. Set the grille cover aside on a drop cloth. It will be dirty.
5. If the fan has failed completely, skip this step and go to step #6. If only the fan blade needs to be removed, unscrew the acorn nut. Important: the acorn nut holding the fan blade to the shaft is left-hand thread. Use a 10 mm socket. If the fan blade is rubbing against the front surface of the fan assembly, install a steel washer behind the fan blade to space it out further.
6. Before removing the fan assembly, first note the orientation of the fan assembly in the back wall of the oven. The heating coil tubes start/end at the top of the circle (12 o’clock position).
7. Unscrew the 3 screws holding the fan assembly to the oven wall. These screws are identical to the screws in step #4.
8. Pull the fan assembly off the oven wall at the top (12 o’clock). Disconnect the 2 spade connectors on the heating coil tubes from the mating female spade connectors on the two yellow electric wires. I don’t think it matters which wire is connected to which spade.
9. Pull the bottom of the fan assembly away from the oven wall. Pull off the quick-connect wire connector to the electric motor.
10. Remove the old fan assembly.
11. Install the new fan assembly in reverse order. Make sure the spade connectors on the heating coil tubes make good contact with the female spade connectors on the yellow wires.
