Error code F9E1. Dishwasher stops with standing water at bottom.

Repair & Advice
Very easy to change pump. Shut off the water, the power and remove drain hose from under sink as needed to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter. I had two screws on the sides, inside the door, attached to may cabinets. Also had to remove the bottom cover to access the power junction box to disconnect the power since the conduit was too short. Once free from under the counter, tip the dishwasher onto its back to access the pump. Removing the pump is just one electrical connector and twist to unlock.

Problem
Error Code F9E1 - Dishwasher KDTM404KPS Will Not Drain
Tools
Philips Head Screw Driver, Vice Grips
Repair & Advice
Dishwasher would run up to first drain step then give error code F9E1 which is unable to drain error. There would be a burning rubber smell accompanied with this. We would have to wait 40 minutes to be able to manually drain which is due to this pumps cooling design that requires 40 minutes off before allowing drain to run again.
The pump in the dishwasher is P/N W11035079, which has been changed to this W11412291 part. Coincidentally, the pump I received ordering this new P/N still says W11035079 which still worked fine.
To replace, make sure to drain dishwasher one more time then unplug. Close valve to water supply line and remove hose using vice grips or any wrench of choice. Use bowl to catch water left in the line. Remove plastic drain hose and use bowl to catch any leftover water in the line. Remove the screws holding the dishwasher to the cabinets then pull dishwasher out. Lay down a large towel, then carefully tip the dishwasher onto its back so you can access the bottom of the dishwasher. Find the pump then: disconnect electrical plug, depress locking tab near top of pump, and twist counterclock wise to remove the pump. Installation opposite of removal.
Have not had a problem in the week I’ve had the new pump installed.

Problem
Error code e1 f9 on kitchen aid dishwasher. Dishwasher was not draining at the end of cycle. if we hit drain a few minutes after cycle was complete it would drain, but not immediately after the cycle. Replaced the pump works like new.
Tools
Shop vac, Screwdriver, pliers, towels , and turned off breaker switch.
Repair & Advice
Glad I did it myself, I took the machine apart first looking for a clog/obstruction that didn’t exist. Once that was ruled out next step was the pump.
