Repair & Advice
Took everything apart and inspected hoses and nothing was clogged. I could hear the drain pump humming but it was not moving water. It was very hot to the touch. I removed the drain pump and replaced with this new part and it works beautifully!

Repair & Advice
Decided to DIY after I paid $120 for Maytag repair guy to diagnose problem and tell me it’d be $450 to replace drain pump (drain pump cost $200). Washer only 18 months old and of course months beyond the year warranty. Begrudgingly paid him and sent him off. Went online and chose PartsDr. Received part more than a week after order due to shipping snafu.
Took advice of others on YouTube and tilted washer forward to expose bottom of washer. Be aware to support washer in tilted position. I ended up with my washer laying on its front out the door to allow water to drain (probably not a good idea if you read this to the end). Be prepared with towels on floor to absorb any water in tub that will spill out (in my case flood out). The drain pump is now easily visible. The three nuts to remove were a bit awkward with a wrench (didn’t have a ratchet) but the pliers were fairly easy to use to release two hoses. Replacing drain part very easy, now tighten screws and reconnect hoses. Place washer upright position and put back in place. I then did a washer clean cycle with Affresh. I had water sitting in washer for several days and it smelled bad because lid was closed. After cycle I initiated another wash cycle but now had problems with an error code about the lid and washer would not work. It kept making a clicking sound as though it was attempting to lock the lid. I was really worried that I had to now expense myself to repair something based on the error code. I unplugged and replugged washer and attempted numerous times to start a cycle (sought advice on YouTube to no avail) I finally gave up & walked away frustrated. The next morning I checked on it and saw that the load had been washed. I selected a cycle and it started…no more error code! Something must had gotten wet triggering the error code. A couple of lessons learned but Washer has worked perfectly fine since. I hope this info helps others.
