Repair & Advice
My washing machine had been getting very noisy after the warranty expired. The motor locked up after a few months. Rather than buy a new washer, I tipped the unit onto it's front, and examined everything. The motor's bearings had walked out of the endbells and chewed up the shaft. I was able to rig things up to work for a while, and ordered the replacement motor. The replacement was slightly larger, and noticeably heavier, with higher quality bearings in it. Not counting the original "make-do" repair, changing the motor was about a 10 minute job. Remove 2 screws holding the belt cover on, walk the belt off the clutch, unplug the harness from the old motor, then remove the motor and reverse the steps. A grand total of 4 bolts and about 10 minutes to fix. The washing machine is actually quieter now than it was when brand new!

Problem
Motor drive for centennial maytag washer
Tools
Simple sockets sets nothing special
Repair & Advice
This is the best permanent replacement cause the oem parts that maytag sell or any parts store the pulleys are plastic but this one is aluminum that will hold the spline on the drive motor longer. Highly recommended.
