Problem
Light would not work
Tools
Screw driver, needle nose pliers & a flashlight
Repair & Advice
This light socket was an update to my screw in bulb type socket. The original one stopped working and upon inspection the center tab broke so it would not conduct electricity to light the bulb. This one is a direct fit replacement but the new bulb is a halogen peanut bulb. It works well and offers the same amount of light, it looks very similar to stock unit once installed.

Problem
Oven light would not come on
Tools

Repair & Advice
The old fixture used a standard incandescent appliance light bulb. The new fixture uses a halogen light bulb; however, the new bulb is included. Before installation, you will want to make a note of the bulb type in case you have to replace it at some point in the future. The most difficult task is removing the old fixture. After taking off the back and carefully unplugging the wires with needed nose pliers, I used a flat head screw driver to bend all of the tabs that held the old fixture in place out of the way. Take care not to distort the shape of the socket so that it will still pop out of the back wall of the oven. It also helps to have a helper lightly push on the socket from the rear so you can see where it is binding. The new fixture easily snaps in from the front; but is difficult to turn so make sure you have it in the proper orientation to reconnect the wires.

Problem
Old oven appliance light bulb overheats and stops working.
Tools
Phillips and flathead screw driver.
Repair & Advice
Just need to be patient and google search your oven model. Look for your release tabs on oven light and make sure they are lifted when you try and remove the old light socket. I used old screw on glass cover. It was a little smaller and easier to install.
