Problem

Washer would not fill with water

Tools

Screwdriver, pliers, wrench

Repair & Advice

First time to disassemble the back panel and touch panel was a little tricky. The lid should be taped down and it slides forward and lifts up. After that, everything else is pretty straight forward. The washer would be started and act like it was filling but would time out, stop, and drain. After many times of testing different things, this valve was order and replaced. It was pretty easy to replace but I recommend as always to take pictures of everything to remember where it goes. I did have to use some pliers to wiggle out the electrical connections from the old valve but it was pretty quick. If you can take those off first, it provides better access to the screw that holds the inlet valve down. Replacement after that was easy. The old valve was pulled out, the new one pushed in, everything else was buttoned up, water lines water lines were hooked up and opened, and a test wash was started. It now works like a charm and as if it were new.

Problem

Washer not taking in hot water

Tools

Screwdriver and socket wrench

Repair & Advice

The hardest/most time consuming part of water intake valve replacement was to remove the control panel from the washer. The rest of it take about 3 minutes. Take the old valve out and snap the new one in. After it was replaced, it worked like a charm.

Problem

My washer was not filling with water but everything else seemed to work just fine.

Tools

Screw driver and a putty knife to remove the washer panels.

Repair & Advice

After determining that the washer operated normally and the only problem I could hear and see was that water would not fill it, I disconnected the hot and cold water hoses to check for a blockage. I made sure water could flow through the hoses. Then I researched the problem on line and found several You Tube videos that diagnosed the problem as a faulty water intake valve. I found the Partsdr.com site, put my washer model in and found the correct water intake valve. They also had the best price out there. I paid for 2 day express shipping and got the part right on time. It was fairly easy to replace. Just take a picture of the old part before you disconnect it so you have a reference for which wires go where.
