The automatic door opener ceased functioning after 5 1/2 years.

Phillips screwdriver, plus torx screwdriver, plus an extra set of hands to hold the control panel and the door lock mechanism as you do the repair

I chose to take photos of the process so I would not mix up reattaching wires. I had my wife help me so that I could transfer the wires directly from the old opener to the new. It is helpful to know that the control panel has two screws one that holds the housing together on top and one that actually anchors the control panel to the frame. Once both screws are off, you can pop the control panel up to release the tabs and pull it away from the frame. With the helps I have shared, this process is doable in probably just over an hour.
