Problem
Water inlet valve was leaking from the solenoid. Bought the replacement valve but could not get the wiring harness off. So I had to buy the wiring harness as well.
Tools
Socket and driver, screwdriver
Repair & Advice
1. Unplug washer
2. Shutoff and disconnect water
3. Move washer so you have full access to the back panel
4. Remove the back covers of the washer by unscrewing the bolt on both the top and bottom sections. Start by unscrewing the bottom first. Take care to remove the small cover the holds joins the top and bottom pieces as the last screw from the bottom. Rotate outward 90 degrees and remove. Remove the bottom cover. Then unscrew the top and remove. On the bottom cover it may be helpful to unscrew the retainer for the outlet hose and feed a portion of the hose through the cover to make moving the panel more manageable.
5. Reach inside and find the retaining clip the hold the control panel on. You need to squeeze this together and at the same time push the control panel toward the front of the washer and slightly up. This will pop it free. You must do this once both side of the panel. The left has plenty of access room. The right is much tighter so it may take a few minutes to find the right position for your arm and hand.
6. Unscrew the water inlet valve. The bolts that hold this on are much easier to remove if you can first remove the wiring harness. But it is manageable if you cannot. If you are able to remove the harness from the valve take note of which colored wire goes to which terminal. Disconnect the wire harness from the control board.
7. Remove water inlet.
8. Attach the bottom square wire leads onto the new valve assembly. Do not attach any other part of the harness for now. Fit new water inlet into place and screw it down.
9. Install the remainer new wire harness onto the valve, making sure you install the wires in the correct order.
10. Attach the harness to the control panel.
11. Reassemble the washer remainder of the washer in the reverse of how you took it apart.

Problem
Water inlet valve was not opening.
Tools
Phillips screwdriver, 1/4"-5/16 screwdriver, channel locks, volt meter
Repair & Advice
The water inlet valve is controlled by an electromagnetic coil. Both terminals will show a 120v reading, meaning both sides of the coil is getting power. The valve should open? There has to be positive and negative for it to work. Don't think you have a faulty valve because your getting power to it. Check the ground side of the coil. The wire my look connected on both ends but in fact is not. My case the wire had melted in side the terminal plug at the circuit board. New wiring harness, part#W11193817. Good as new.
