Repair & Advice
I initially thought a thermal fuse may have blown but an online search of the wiring diagram showed that this model oven had one thermal fuse for both top and bottom oven and the top worked fine. I didn't see the thermal limiter in the wiring diagram but a YouTube search directed me to what the problem might be. Getting to the limiter for testing required getting the oven out of the wall (a two man job). To considerably lighten the load both doors were removed. Fortunately the power cable was long enough that it did not have to be disconnected and the oven could be turned sideways to get to the back. We set the oven on a short step stool and the back panels were removed to access the electrical components. The thermal limiter (THRMST-FIX) was disconnected and tested for resistance (should be "0"ohms). It was found to be open. After replacing the limiter and reinstalling the oven, wife says the oven pre-heats faster than before. The slow pre-heat had been noticed from when we first got the oven.
