Problem
Front left burner on my whirlpool stove would go to 'high' and stay there with all three elements.
Tools
Phillips #2 Screw Driver
Repair & Advice
1. After removing the stove, UNPLUG THE STOVE!
2. There is a small 1 in X 1 in metal box, remove the screw from this and you will find a small plastic wiring connector. Push on the pins on the top and bottom and push the connector into the stove area.
3. Remove the #2 Phillip screws on the left and right metal panel that is used to level out the top and bottom metal plates. Set this panel aside.
4. Loosen the top two screws on the left and right for the front beauty plate, you do not have to remove them.
5. Remove the top two screws on the upper metal plate.
6. Tap down on the upper metal plate with the butt of the screwdriver and push it downwards, be very careful as the metal is sharp and 'it will cut'. Once removed set it aside.
7. Go to the front of the stove and pull the knob for the burner off, this should simply require you to pull straight out on it.
8. Using the screwdriver, remove the two screws on the beauty plate and thereby releasing the switch.
9. Go to the back of the stove and pull the switch out. Keep note of how the switch was oriented so you can orient the new one in the same place.
10. For mine the wiring was in three different wiring harnesses. This made it very simple to remove the old wire connectors and put them into the same place. It is recommended to do 1 wire (or connector) at a time to ensure you put them into the right spot on the new switch.
11. Push the new switch back into place being sure to keep the same orientation as the one you removed.
12. Start the screws for the beauty plate on the front of the stove, you can move the entire switch from side to side as needed in order to get it straight/centered. Tighten screws down.
13. Push on the knob and test orientation, if it is not correct then remove the knob, loosen the screws, and move as needed.
14. On the back of the stove get the upper metal plate and push the plastic wiring connector back into the middle area (if equipped and removed in step 1).
15. Push the metal plate up into the position it was before, be careful not to cut any wires with the sharp metal edges!
16. Re-attach upper metal plate with the two top screws.
17. Tighten down the top two screws on the left and right for the front beauty plate.
18. Install the screws on the left and right metal panel that is used to level out the top and bottom metal plates.
19. Plug the stove back in and test the burner. Address issues as needed.
20. Finally place the stove back into position.

Repair & Advice
This was pretty easy. I removed approx. 8 screws to remove the sheet metal panel behind the control board and burner knobs. I then located the burner element knob that I was having issue with and removed that. I moved the wires from the existing infinite switch to the new infinite switch one by one and reinstalled.
