Our Main control Brd and Control panel shorted out due to Storm.

After a lighting storm our Kenmore Downdraft electric range went down had to replace the main control brd, control panel, main control panel and ribbon. Now it gets confusing as each part is separate. The Service department was great to work with and gave great advice. I got a little testiest not understanding all these parts. I needed. But there guidance help me threw it. My advice ask for help that why there their. Now my wife is back to making bread. Be careful on new part it the say its sharp, its sharp. There repair video was a absolutely must to see save me a lot of time and only had one extra screw left over.

Error Code F8E0- Cooling fan speed too low. Oven auto-shut off at around 170 degrees because the cooling fan would not engage. Also, the downdraft fan did not work.

The bake, broil, steam bake, and convection bake functions of the stove stopped working. The oven would either immediately throw the error code F8E0 (cooling fan speed too low) or it would heat up to 170 degrees or so and then throw the same error, and automatically turn off. Also, the downdraft fan did not work. The stovetop continued to function fine. I replaced the cooling fan and that did not solve the problem. I ran some diagnostics and several unrelated error codes popped up. I replaced the Main Control Board (easy process) and everything works just fine now. I would guess that if you're getting the error F8E0 and replacing the cooling fan does not work, it may be your Main Control Board. It's not a cheap part, but it's relatively easy to fix.

The part works fine but the included wires that replaced the ribbon cable from the main board to the controls didn’t work. I had to use the old one.
