Repair & Advice
We bought 4 Kenmore dishwashers on black Friday in 2017 because our contractor said our cabins would be ready in March of 2018. He died in July of 2018 and the cabins are only now getting finished by me and my son. Two of the dishwashers were DOA. Paid $100 for Sears tech to come out and look at one of the dishwasher and he said it would cost $509 to fix which included the $100. The dishwasher was $499.00 new with free delivery. Same dishwasher today is $702.00. Tech said since we were able to finish cabins we could probably replace the motor ourselves. He gave us the parts numbers we needed.
Ordered parts and they came in a week. Remove and replace took 15 minutes. Fixed with no issues. Need to order one for the other dishwasher now!

Repair & Advice
very straight forward repair. remove old pump, replace with new pump. only need basic mechanical aptitude. Pro tip---don't start new pump until you add water manually(i.e. pour a couple of quarts in before you fire it up).

Repair & Advice
I opted not to take most of the dishwasher apart, so I watched a YouTube video where only the motor was replaced. The plastic portion of the part was twisted to separate from the motor, and it was quite hard to get the motor in place, since there wasn't a lot of room to maneuver. I managed to twist the motor onto the catch edges, but it was hard to do. Also, make sure you RESET the dishwasher after the repair by punching 3 buttons in a row, 3 times, for a total of 9 punches. Then the dishwasher with go through a 15 minute cycle. I had to do this since the heating element didn't work after the motor was repaired. After the 15 minute reset cycle, the heating element worked fine, and the washer was now fully functional.
