Problem
After initiating self-clean mode for the first time since owning this Whirlpool double wall oven the entire thing shut off and had overheated within 30 min of activation. The oven door was also locked and the display was off completely.
Tools
Thermal fuse and thermostat replacement parts from PartsDr. Basic tools including screw driver, pliers, and extra set of hands.
Repair & Advice
After research, this is very common for these ovens in self clean mode. More than likely you will need to replace the thermal fuse and thermostat together for the oven to come back on and the element to heat up again. You must take the whole oven out of the wall to access these areas and turn off the power when replacing the thermostat (usually these ovens are hard wired into your electrical grid).
