Problem
KitchenAid undercounter ice maker was making very thin ice.

Repair & Advice
The reservoir was not filling completely and the ice was only about an 1/8 to 1/4" thick. If I manually filled the reservoir during the cycle, then it made the standard 1/2" thick ice. While trying to diagnose the problem, I learned this circulation pump has a built in water level sensor. I hoped that would be the problem. Replacing this recirculation pump did the trick. Please note the actual pump was functioning fine. But if the sensor within it is bad, your reservoir may not fill all the way and it will make thin ice.

Repair & Advice
It was shipped very fast, excellent condition, worked very good, same as original from the one that comes from the machine.
I had to bring the expert to change it. I couldnt do it by myself. Better to call an expert, to be change correctly.

Problem
Whirlpool ice maker wouldn't produce ice.
Tools
Screwdriver, 1/4" socket driver.
Repair & Advice
I had to remove the cutting grid, scoop and holder, pump cover on top, and then the whole reservoir after disconnecting the pump outlet hose and all electrical connections. While I had the reservoir out, I cleaned all mineral deposits I could find inside the unit and all around the reservoir (this took the most time). I then swapped out the circulation pump on the reservoir mount, popped everything back in. Turned it on, ran through the diagnostics to ensure the new pump was doing it's thing. Within an hour, I had enough ice to fill a couple of glasses. By the next morning, the bin was full of beautiful, clean ice.
