Repair & Advice
I took apart the inside of the dishwasher the filter, water tower spray arm to check for any thing that may have caused the problem also took out the middle and lower rack. What I found was what I believed was the plastic wrap around the soap I was using all over the inside of the dishwasher. Turned off the breaker for the electric turned off the water for the dishwasher under the sink. Then I took off the lower panel, disconnected the water line, disconnected the Electric lines under the dishwasher disconnected the drain line under the sink, use a small container and rag the catch any water that might leak out of the water or drain line. Feed the drain out under or through the cabinet wall. Pulling the the dishwasher out slowly making sure the water, drain, and Electric lines don’t get hung up on the dishwasher.when you get it out turn the dish washer on it’s back. Use something to protect your floors from scratching or damage to the dishwasher. Locate the unit you are putting in. Disconnect the wiring going to the unit. Remove the drain pump. Remove the rubber hose on the base of the dishwasher look at the new one, to know where. Remove the drain hose on the pump housing. Look at the rear of the pump where the electric motor is on the side of the electric motor closest to the tub, there is a piece sticking out of the motor with what looks like a thick white washer look how it is hook in be fore you try to remove the pump housing. Then pull it out gently to unhook it. Pull the pump housing out of the rubber grommet on the front of the pump housing. Remove the rubber grommet. Pull out and replace it. Put the new one on the pump housing first, then slide it in using a little water on it. Make sure you put the piece on the motor sticking out back the same way you took it out. Hook up the drain line to the pump housing and rubber drain to the tub base. Using the end cutters crimp the fitting. Reinstall the drain pump.
Rehook the wiring plugins to the motor and drain pump.. re install the dishwasher in reverse procedures as you took it out. If you know how test your parts and wires first to make sure you are not just throwing parts at it. You tube has a lot of videos to help you put in this part and others. Use a cell phone to take pictures or videos so you will remember each step you did.also use your parts diagram it will give you a break down on some parts. And where the parts are.
