Repair & Advice
Washer would not run. Internet indicated either a burned-out motor control unit or bad control panel. After removing the control panel to access the internals, the MCU appeared fine (i.e. no burn marks or visible damage). Ordered a replacement control panel, which solved the problem after installation.
Install on our Cabrio wasn't bad, but would have been faster with a repair manual. The control panel is secured by a couple clips, and can be pulled up and removed pretty trivially. I ended up removing a lot of screws to take the whole top of the washer off before realizing it just pulled up and out. Took me about 45 min. Doing it again would take 5 now that I know how it assembles.
