The knobs kept falling off my Whirlpool stove. The center plastic doo-dad that holds them on fell out of several knobs and disappeared.
Tools
I squirted a drop of silicone caulk into the empty hole, but that only worked for a little while. I needed to replace the little part.
Repair & Advice
The center part (very tiny and probably very inexpensive, if it were even available) would have solved the problem, but the only option was to replace the whole knob--not inexpensive! PartsDr carries factory replacements for those knobs. I would recommend not putting the knobs in the dishwasher, so the little center part won't fall out and go down the drain.
