A flat and Phillips head screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
You literally undo a few screws, unplug the ribbon from the old unit, remove it and replace with the new unit and plug in the new ribbon, put your screws back.

Control panel lights were flashing because one of the wash mode buttons was stuck.

Repair & Advice
Simply remove the old control panel (be careful when disconnecting the printer ribbon cable) and connect the new part. In total, 6-8 screws were removed.
