Repair & Advice
The Maytag spray arms are horribly designed so that junk gets stuck inside the arm, and there is no way to open or clean them out, short of using tweezers to pull out stuff when it's near the spray holes.
I had to replace the display panel, so I figured I'd replace the arms while I'm working on it. Sometimes the lower spray arm seems "stuck" in place. You have to hold the top nut firm, and turn the arm counter clockwise. While turning the arm, you have to lift it at the same time, so that you engage the threads. On mine, the threads where a little stripped, so I had to use a flat head screwdriver to pry the arm onto the threads. It felt like it was going to break off, but eventually, it did engage the threads and didn't break. Successful spray arm change, horrible product design on Maytag's end.
