The refrigerator would occasionally shut off and on several times as noticed by a clicking sound and the touch control panel on the door shutting off and on. This was an intermittent problem for a while until finally the whole system shut down. While down, when you depress any button on the control pad, everything would light up but nothing else would happen. The exception was when you pushed the freezer temperature up/down buttons, the ice door would open and close.

I called a repair tech who came out and diagnosed it to be the low voltage control board on the front of the refrigerator. Problem is, even though the refrigerator was only 6 yrs old, the part is discontinued and only fix is to purchase a difficult to find remanufactured part or send the board out to be repaired. Repair was going to take over a week, which is unacceptable for such a major appliance. I didn't have much confidence in the repair tech so I paid the visit cost and sent him on his way. After some internet searching, I diagnosed the problem to be the high voltage control board. The key was a video that showed the exact same problem and how to fix it. I ordered the part and had it installed very quickly. The board also has to be programmed for your specific model so after stepping through this, the refrigerator started right up.

Ice and Water dispenser not working on front panel.

Screw driver.

Installation was pretty simple, unscrewed panel on back of fridge, removed cover and disconnected old board. Replaced with new board and screwed panel back on. Then programmed fridge on front panel. Took about 20 minutes top and was back in business.
