Problem
Washer was leaking water into drain pan, even when not in operation.
Tools
Cordless drill driver with socket, plumbing pliers, and slip-joint pliers.
Repair & Advice
The water inlet valve is where the hot and cold water hoses attach to the washer, and it had a slow leak as a result of a crack in the housing. This leak was occurring even when the washer was not in operation, so it could be observed with the hot and cold water valves turned on. To replace it, I first unplugged the washer, then turned off the water supply to the water hoses and removed them. Then, I removed the screws that fastened the back panel to the washer and also removed the main cross brace to gain easier access to the inlet valve. There is one screw attaching the water inlet valve to the washer frame, which I removed and then pushed the 2 hose couplings through the frame. There are 3 electrical connectors on the water inlet valve, which are removed by pressing the tab inward to pull them out of the socket. I took a photo of them before removing them to be sure they were replaced correctly. There are also 2 hoses with small spring clamps holding them onto the inlet valve, which I removed. Once the 3 wire connections and 2 hoses are removed, the inlet valve could then be removed from the washer. I then installed the new inlet valve by inserting the 3 electrical connectors and attaching the 2 hoses, then pushing the hot and cold water couplings through the washer frame and securing the valve to the frame with the one screw, ensuring it was seated properly to the frame. I then turned on the hot and cold water valves to the washer to check for any leaks. After observing no leaks, I replaced the main cross brace and back panel, then plugged in the washer. To date, everything is working properly with no leaks.

Problem
Multiple problems (F20 error, fabric softener not being taken from reservoir, and occasional filling of drum when not in use).
Tools
Pliers, nut driver, screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Was surprised that multiple problems (F20 error, fabric softener not being taken from reservoir, and occasional filling of drum when not in use) were solved by replacing the valve. Part was an exact fit, easy to install. Was hesitant about the $80 price when so many other valves were in the $15-$25 range. Now it was worth every penny!
