Problem
Our 20 year old standalone ice maker’s solenoid controlled water tube developed a leak that ultimately flooded the heating and A/C returns. I determined the leak developed in the inlet tubing and could. It find the part anywhere locally, so I searched online and found Parts Dr had it in stock. I ordered the part and called to see when it would arrive. The gentleman that answered let me know that even though the delivery showed to be two weeks away, he would help expedite things for us. I received the new tube assembly in 4 days and found not have been happier!
Tools
Elbow grease, a Phillips screwdriver, 1/4” nut driver and pair of pliers.
Repair & Advice
This is a reasonably simple installation once the ice maker was pulled out from under the counter and I was able to remove the old solenoid and it’s leaking inlet tube.
