Repair & Advice
Googled the dryer timer problem and determined that the timer was the most likely part that needed replacement. I ordered the part through parts dr and received it quickly within 4 days. I then looked up on you tube how to replace the part. It was very easy to do and took 20 minutes to repair. Cost was $80.00 to repair it myself.

Problem
A customer’s Whirlpool dryer ran and heated but the timer dial wouldn’t move. They were setting a timer and turning the dial manually. It seemed the timer was shot so I used the diagram to identify the timer and ordered it (best price anywhere).
Tools
1/4” nut driver
Repair & Advice
The timer arrived on schedule in good condition. I pulled the dryer away from the wall, unplugged it and removed the 5 screws holding the rear panel of the control area. Then the dial was removed and the 2 screws holding the timer. Next I swapped the wire connectors to the new timer one at a time and tossed the old timer. Finally the 2 screws for the timer went in, one of which pins a plug as well as the timer, the dial was slipped back on (make sure it’s centered) and the rear panel with 5 screws was reinstalled. I plugged it in and tested the repair.
