Repair & Advice
Our glass cooktop was chipped on 3 sides with dangerous jagged edges of glass. I don’t even know how it happened but it was the second time we had to replace the cooktop glass due to chipping. I wanted a cooktop with some kind of edging but due to the kind of downdraft I needed I couldn’t find anything, plus they were very expensive. So we replaced the glass and bought 4 of these strips and made our own edging. The top and bottom strips were applied, using double side tape that is already on them. The side sections were shorter so they had to be cut. We used a bandsaw after carefully measuring and inserted the side sections between the top and bottom sections. Just use careful measuring and placement. Use some tape or something to protect the stainless when cutting it. Don’t cut it too short. If it’s a fraction too long use a file until it fits. It looks amazing and should protect the edges now.
