Problem
Washer shakes violently during spin cycle
Tools
Small rope, zip ties and blocks of wood
Repair & Advice
Washer would shake violently during the spin cycle with all loads of laundry. Replaced the shocks first and it helped a little then changed the springs. This seems to have done the trick. I made sure the spider arm for the tub was not broke before I proceeded with the shock and spring replacement.
It was easy to replace the springs after the tub was supported. Then I simply changed one spring at a time, by placing the small diameter rope on the top hook portion of the spring and pulling up to unhook spring from holder. Didn’t take long to change springs, 30 to 60 min for most. There are YouTube videos on how to easily change the springs.
