Problem
Whirlpool Duet Washer - Damage to Washing Machine Baffle (Replaced on baffle due to severe rattle when in the spin cycle which you could hear throughout the house with the laundry room door closed).
Tools
Flathead Screw Driver, 1/4 inch socket
Repair & Advice
New part was exactly the same as the one removed. Removed top of Washer by removing 3 screw in back of lid. Removed black hose with ribs going into top of drum. Rubber hose easily pulls out so you can see the metal drum through the hole. Turn the drum from the inside until you see the metal part of the drum that holds the baffle in place through the hole. Bend the metal piece (clip) up to all the baffle to be released and push baffle to the back of the drum to release it and take it out. You may need a little force to push it back. Use rubber mallet if needed. Bend the metal pieces (clips) toward the inside of the drum to make sure they catch when you slide the new baffle in. There are two clips per baffle. Make sure baffle stays in place. Put hose back in and put the lid back on securing with the 3 screws in back. No more rattle during spin cycle.

Baffles broke.

Pliers.
Repair & Advice
Baffle broken. To remove broken baffle I had to use a bit of force to snap it out. Because the retaining prongs were bent on removal, I had to use pliers to straighten them. Once that was done it was just a matter of snapping the new one in place.
