Problem
Drain pump not working.
Tools
Philips drive, pliers, channel locks.
Repair & Advice
Drain pump was not working. I first studied YouTube videos and started the disassembly but then ran into trouble on the front assembly, so I put it all back together and tipped the washer on its side to remove the pump from the bottom, this was pretty easy (after draining the lines and cleaning up extra water leaking out). I removed both the drain pump and recirc pump, took them apart, cleaned out a bunch of gunk, and reinstalled them but still had the same problem with the drain pump. So I ordered a new drain pump (from a different company) and repeated the process, problem solved. My wife then asked me to order a recirc pump also so we will have it when the recirc pump goes bad, which will never happen now that we have a replacement. This repair was a little difficult because our dryer is stacked and because draining the washer is a pain. Once the dryer was off and the washer drained, tipping over the washer and removing the pump was fairly easy. I took photos to make sure the electrical connections and pump attachments were correct.
