Husband installed a garbage disposal, and forgot to remove the water plug. I did a load of dishes in the dish washer, and everything backed up~ruined some things on the dishwasher!!

Did not drain water.

Repair & Advice
I first used a vacuum to suck out the standing water and then removed the screws holding down the filter and then detached the arm. I then pulled out the faulty drain check valve (it was twisted and corroded) and replaced it with the new one, beveled side in and pushed the rectangular part into the slot. I then replaced the filter, screwed back in the bolts, and reattached the arm. Worked like magic and now the water drains.
