Samsung wf331anw-xaa front loader excessive shake and would not advance spin cycle

Various nut drivers, phillips & straight blade screwdrivers, dead-blow hammer, socket wrench with extensions and swivel head, needle-nose plier.

Broken spider -arm (inferior product design/material), common to most front load washers. If you are not willing to do this repair yourself, the washer becomes a throwaway because professional repair costs will exceed the value of the machine. I ordered the new arm as well as the six mounting bolts, and the rear tub seal. YouTube videos provide very good sequencing steps. The removal of the nut from the rear shaft was difficult. Used a box-end wrench and a dead-blow hammer to loosen the threadlocked bolt. When you pull the outer wheel of the drive motor, expect resistance. It is lined with magnets. Various mechanical and electrical disconnections must be performed (pictures a +) On the bottom of the tub is a crescent shaped piece that holds some wires with twist ties. Remove the twist ties and release. Pull off the crescent piece. This will leave a flatter shaped bottom and allow easier clearance when removing the drum assembly. A 4x4 wood block placed below the tub to provides support while releasing the tub springs. Tub removal is manageable without removing weights. 4 of 6 bolts to the spider arm broke off. Once removed, I had to strike the shaft with the dead-blow hammer to separate from the tub. One arm of the three was completely severed, and significant degradation to much of the aluminum material. The cavities were filled with soap residue and decayed metal. On-line highly recommended epoxy coating the new arm to stave off future decay.I had the piece powder-coated in a high gloss finish. The shaft seal was near failure. The housing bearings were in very good condition. In my machine, the Inner Bearing is an HCH 6306Z. The Outer bearing is an HCH 6305Z. I lightly lubricated the shaft seal with silicone grease. Ensure the seal is fully and evenly seated. I used a socket wrench extension rod to tap around the perimeter a few passes until no further movement. I cleaned the surfaces with glass cleaner and 000 steel wool. Lightly coated silicone grease on the gasket between the tub halves. I took several passes while tightening the tub bolts to prevent cocking. While everything was disassembled, fully cleaned and flushed the pump and pump plumbing and inspected the pump blades. Reassemble all parts in sequence, verify your work and definitely make sure all water passage plumbing connections are tight. I don't think you can beat PartsDr for timeliness of processing orders, correctness of parts or pricing.

Hammer, metric sockets and ratchet, flat head and Phillips screwdriver, needle nose pliers.

Samsung front end loading washing machine recently tore up and making metal to metal sound. The tub would not spin. No one in my town worked on them, so I had to repair the machine myself. There are 3 parts that turn the drum...1. Rotor, 2. Stator, and 3. Drum Spider. After checking the rotor and stator by removing those parts, I placed the rotor back on the grooved spindle to turn the tub. The tub would not turn but the spindle would so that let me know that it was the drum spider. It is a long time consuming process to remove everything in order to get the tub well out and free from the machine. While you are into preparing to repair your machine, I would suggest for you to clean your filter as there will be small metal parts clogging the filter. When you have the front of the machine and all the hoses, the counterweights on front of tub well and other parts seperated from the tub well, you have to unhook the shocks also. They are located at the bottom of the tub well. The only thing left should be the springs located at the top that should be holding the tub well. Carefully remove the the tub well while unhooking the springs from the machine and guiding the tub well thru the front of the machine. Once it is free from the machine, unhook the springs from the well and place back into the machine. Once the tub well is free, I had to separate the tub well while careful not to damage the seal. Once you can physically remove the drum from the tub well, then you can remove the drum spider located on the back of the drum. Be prepared for the bolts to be possibly "welded" to the drum as did. I had to break the bolt heads completely off in order to remove the remains of the drum spider. I highly recommend if you have to replace the drum spider, then to get new replacement bolts as well. Once the repair was made and reassembled, the wife was happy once again.

Draft shaft broke into 2 piece

It take a lot of times to dis-assembly until you reach the shaft, remember wear gloves sharp edge inside the machine. You will need a helper to remove the washing container, it is very heavies with narrow of room to work around. I have use torque wrench to remove the bolt that secure the shaft, little wrench won't work and you will waste a lot of time try to open it up.
