Problem
Samsung front loading washer (WF42H5200, built May 2016) was stopping after a few minutes with code 4E (water supply issue)
Tools
Pliers, small wrenches, screwdriver, multimeter (optional)
Repair & Advice
1. Pulled washer out, disconnected water supply hoses, electric, and drain hose.
2. Removed top off washer (not hard, see Youtube).
2. Checked nothing clogged, and checked that solenoid switches had continuity with multimeter (they were fine).
3. Towards front of washer, I noticed black flecks on the outside of the white drum, where the water pressure switch hose was rubbing up against a sharp plastic edge, and saw there was a hole in the hose.
4. Tried wrapping with plumber's tape and electrical tape to seal hole, but the washer still stopped with 4E code. After searching all over the internet for the right part, I ordered the replacement hose from PartsDr.com which arrived in 2 days.
5. Turned washer over on its side, and removed pedestal, which allowed me to get to the access area in the bottom of the washer. I did not have to remove the front panel (thankfully).
6. I carefully removed the old hose and the connectors with it and replaced it with the new hose assembly. Not that hard.
7. Reassembled everything, turned right side up, and tested. It worked.
8. If I had known what to do from the start, and had the part, the whole repair could have been done in about an hour. Of course, reality is different and I spent a lot of time checking the solenoids before I noticed the problem was with the pressure hose (which tests whether there is water in the drum before proceeding to the next part of the wash cycle).

Washer reported 4e code

Repair & Advice
Washer reported a 4e code, so we replaced the water valves first. The problem persisted, so upon further inspection of the insides of the washer, I found a hole in the pressure hose. The original pressure hose was tied to the drum and wore down over time and developed a hole due to the friction between the hose and the drum while in use. I routed the new pressure hose away from the drum to prevent wear from constant contact with the drum. The washer works like new now and we have a spare set of water valves. The hardest part of the repair was getting the front panel off of the washer. I had to do some hammering to get the locking tabs to move.
