Excessive vibration and shaking during spin cycle

I found several disassembly instruction videos on Youtube. The whole machine needed to be disassembled. This is not an easy job. I took it apart in order and took pictures of wiring, so I could put it back together correctly. The drum bracket was broken and there were many small pieces of metal in the system, so you really need to inspect and clean all hoses. The new part is bare metal like the original. I don't want to be doing this ever again, so I primed and spray painted the new part. Don't forget to grease the shaft before reassembly. I cleaned the drum and outer drum thoroughly before putting all back together. You may need a helper for removing the front outer drum and to help with putting it all back on the springs. Hint: remove the springs from the side of the washer with the plastic grommet intact if your machine has it. I did myself a favor and removed the front weights to make things easier, but you don't have to. Good news! If everything goes right, the maximum deviation during spin now is no more than 5 mm and the machine is so quiet, I can't even tell when it's in spin cycle. Best advice: Paint the new part!!!!

Our front load washer shook all over the place.

Phillips and flat-head screwdriver, wrench and socket set, needle nose pliers, and blue thread lock. You may also need a bucket to drain off excess water in the tubes and tub, so have towels handy.

Our front load washer shook something terrible. We were told numerous time to simply redistribute the load, but that should not have caused this level of shaking. We watched a video and realized it was probably the flange shaft that might need to be replaced. We decided to save time and money from a repairman or replacement washer, and open the washing machine up. The flange had one broken arm and two cracked arms that would have likely given at any moment. We ordered the flange and some other replacement parts, including the hex screws and drum seal. We also purchased blue thread lock for the drum and weight bolts when we put it all back together. It’s were ordered on 01/03/21 and we received them 2 days later. It took about an hour to put everything back together and test a load of clothes.. the washer has worked perfectly ever sense. In total we spent about $250, but that’s much cheaper than the $800 cost to buy a new one... and we are certainly not repairmen, but it was well worth the money we saved and the learning experience. Overall, it took a few hours to break things down, clean everything up, and put everything back together with the new parts. Be sure to DISCONNECT THE POWER before starting this project; have some help you when removing the drum; buy and use blue thread lock when putting all the bolts (not the screws) back into place; and double check that you’ve reconnected everything before putting the covers back on and testing the repair.
