Water filter case would pulsate and water flow thru dispenser would be slow or non-existent.

Phillips screwdriver and wrenches.

Parts Dr video was extremely helpful. Part was reasonably priced (and lowest price I found). Seemed expensive at about $170, but that included an OEM Samsung filter which costs $50 by itself. Took maybe an hour to replace including emptying lower shelf and door bins, pulling out fridge using straps and cleaning behind fridge.

Fridge was making a jackhammer sound when producing water. Also leaked some water.

Pliers, wrench, screwdriver

Reference video was great. The only difference was the brass coupler to the water line behind the fridge needs to be removed from the old line white line and put on the new white line with this unit. Easy to do. Unscrew it, pull out plug, move in new line. You have to put a little pressure to install the plug but should be pretty easy for anyone. The cover on the top of the fridge was a little different. One less screw I believe but easier to take off than the video showed. Everything else was perfect.

Samsung filter case assembly leaking under crisper drawers.

Screwdrivers(flat and Phillips), open-end wrenches( 7/16" I think for water line connection).

At first thought it was ice build up in drain from a poorly designed heating element (a well known problem w/samsungs). Then, thought it was drain tubes in back of unit but they were clear. Finally came across a problem w/filter case leaking which has same symptoms as first 2 above problems (water under crisper draw). Checked the O-rings on filter and they seemed ok. Also, filter inlet looked clear of debris. Process of elimination left me with case assembly leaking. These units are NOT cheap so check first 2 problems above which will cost you next to nothing (if you buy replacement heating element) to eliminate. There are a lot videos on you tube show how to do all 3 of these procedures so you can see what you are getting into. There are very helpful in tips to save yourself headaches if it is your first time servicing your fridge. I ordered the part from Parts Dr. The price was the best around and it arrived very quickly. The part was an exact fit and seems to be good quality. Put it in around 2 weeks ago and so far no leaks. Make sure you take about a gallon of water out of water dispenser after you are done to get all air out of water lines otherwise you may get a steady drip from water dispenser.
