Repair & Advice
My Samsung RF26XAERS refrigerator's ice maker started making a thumping noise. It was the sensor arm of the ice maker constantly cycling. It would happen for a few minutes or even hours, then stop for a while. Actual ice production slowed and eventually stopped. My ice maker model was DA97-07365A. I replaced it with DA97-07365G.
Overall, this job will take you about 10 minutes. It looks intimidating, but it is really easy.
To replace the ice maker, first unplug the refrigerator. Then pull out the ice tray and set it aside. Remove the phillips screw on the left side near the front of the ice maker tray's slot. The trim piece that the screw was holding needs to be pulled out slightly, then slid out towards the front of the fridge. This will expose the wires and connector. Unplug the connector and carefully remove the wires from the clips holding them in place. Take your time. Find the tabs on the front and side of the ice maker module. Looking at the new one helped out a lot. It showed what parts would come out with the ice maker and what parts stayed in. Press on the tabs and slide the ice maker down and out. Slide the new one back in, route the wires in the same manner as the old one, and reattach the connector. Slide the trim piece back into place and reinstall the screw. Put the ice tray back in and plug the fridge in. Within a few hours, you should have ice cubes.
I fixed this myself for just over $100. If I had to call in a professional, they would have charged me $100 just to tell me I needed a new ice maker, then charged me hundreds for the part and even more for the installation. Thanks to the PartsDr site and forum, I felt confident that I had isolated the problem and would be able to tackle the replacement myself. I now have all the ice I need and no more thumping noises!

Repair & Advice
I read the step by step analysis prepared by parts dr and others on the internet. After checking the water supply and temperature, I determined that the ice maker might be the problem. I ordered the part from parts dr. According to the online instructions from parts dr, I shut off the power, turned off the water, unscrewed the access panel and disconnected the wire plug. I then pushed down the front tab and slid the old one out. I reversed the process and got ice over night.

Repair & Advice
Quick and easy to replace. I just wish these things worked longer. Every couple years I have to replace it again.
