Samsung Ice Maker Was Not Separating the Cubes/Ejecting

Repair & Advice
Our Samsung refrigerator's ice cube maker suddenly stopped dumping ice in July. Upon investigation, the cubes were in a solid mass unable to eject. We purchased a new ice maker, but the problem remained...ice unable to eject and in a frozen mass (wanting to eject, but not able it seemed). Thinking we possibly purchase a dud ice maker, we tried a second new ice maker. Still the same problem. THEN we read that someone had a similar problem and resolved it by changing the mother board. We ordered a new board (actually this is cheaper than the ice maker replacement). After swapping out our board, a few hours later I heard the pleasant clunk of new ice cubes dropping! I was so pleased! Packaging of the new board was sub-optimal. It was a very flimsy box with the board enclosed in a bag and partially wrapped in bubble wrap. I was afraid the board was damaged due to the flimsy box being partially smashed, but it must be a tough mother. When I installed it, it worked. Another back story. In early July, for some reason, our refrigerator went into "Display Mode." That's when the lights will come on when you open the door, but there is no cooling. We called customer service, and they told us to hold a couple buttons down to get it out of Display Mode; that worked and it started cooling again. This seemed weird to us...that it went into this mode in the first place. But that was probably a hint that something was up with our mother board. Because it was about a week later that we realized our ice maker wasn't working.

Problem
The ice maker stopped working in my Samsung French door refrigerator, model RF4267HARS
Tools
Screwdriver, and a bit of muscle to pull it out from the wall
Repair & Advice
The ice maker stopped working in my Samsung French door refrigerator, model RF4267HARS. The paddles we’re getting stuck and wouldn’t eject the ice. After replacing the ice maker didn’t help, I learned that some ice maker functions (including the heating element that releases the cubes) are run from this main control board in the back of the unit. Replacing this did the trick. Hardest part of the repair was pulling the fridge out from the wall to access the back. After that, it’s just a metal panel that comes off, and a bunch of circuit board plugs to disconnect.

Repair & Advice
The great saga of our non-functioning ice maker began in the year of our Lord two-thousand and eighteen. Our fridge was still under warranty then and they replaced the ice maker itself twice and the valve. It worked briefly, but then promptly stopped. We gave up hope until one day I had finally had enough of spilling the contents of an ice tray in the freezer and decided to do some research (the forums on PartsDr were very helpful in this). I discovered several things. First, the reverse osmosis system I had installed was supplying inadequate pressure to the fridge. This was rectified with an "on-demand" aux water pump that I purchased on Amazon. Second, during one my perhaps more aggressive attempts to repair the ice maker I broke the arm off on the bottom of the ice maker. I purchased a new ice maker on parts DR, but this still did not fix the problem. Thirdly, I realized I had left the old ice maker out of the fridge overnight which caused the temp to lower in the fridge and the water bottle that is located in the fridge froze completely. After thawing this out and reinstalling it still did not work! I was nearly ready to give up and at least be happy with the increased water pressure provided by the aux pump I had installed, but I decided to look one more time on parts DR. I discovered a post about this control board and given the fact that I had already committed more time and resources to fixing this than all of the scientists involved in the Manhattan project, I decided to give this board a try. And wouldn't you know the heavens parted and the ice maker began working and has ever since!
