Problem
Brand new LG washer wouldn’t drain - error code
Tools
Drain pan and a Phillips screwdriver
Repair & Advice
A new LG washer delivered from Costco wouldn’t drain. They couldn’t find an authorized repair tech to come to our area, nearest was 2+ hours away.
Started checking, found what I thought was the right pump, opened the washer and checked to be sure and it was. Ordered it on Sunday afternoon and it was here Tuesday morning.
Finished taking it apart Tuesday afternoon was an easy replacement, go find the video nothing to it, couple hours, a $90 pump, hose clamp and a couple beers and was all set.
Turned out that on the assembly of the washer they used a grey PVC glue to attach the drain hose rather than a clamp, and it had ran inside the pump and had the impeller locked up. I got the glue to come out and the impeller moved freely, probably didn’t need a pump after all, I have a spare pump now, I did use a hose clamp instead.

Problem
My LG washer was not draining, actually it was not doing anything. I had check the pump before and removed a collar metal stay that damaged the pump .
Tools
Phillips screwdriver
Repair & Advice
Simple thing, the drain pump was failing, checked it, removed what was obstructing movement. Got it fixed, the first time. Second time I had to replace the pump, I could have open the original pump and replace the damage sleeve from the motor but it was gonna take too long so I ordered a new replacement which fitted perfect.

Problem
Washer was tripping circuit breaker.
Tools
Used a screwdriver took back off machine checked all connections for a short.
Repair & Advice
After checking for a short or broken wire it was determined to be a bad pump motor. Took two screws off the pump then removed the drain hoses. There was a little water left in the pump I would recommend having a small bowl or a large towel to catch the water when removing the hoses. The replacement is just the reverse of taking it off. This fixed our problem of tripping the circuit breaker.
