Pump would run for 1-8 minutes and then would fault and throw an LE code. Occasional loud whining/grinding nouse. Pulled the motor and noticed a burnt pin on the connector.

Phillips head, channel lock pliers, flat head

Pretty simple. Remove the dishwasher from it's hole, unplug and press the power button to verify no power. Lay dishwasher on it's right side. Remove lower plastic cover. Locate pump. Take off wire tie holding wires together. Unplug the motor connector. Unplug temp probe. Remove the 3 hose clamps with pliers. Remove rubber mounting straps from either side of the pump housing. Use a flat blade screwdriver to carefully work the hoses off if necessary. Install new pump in reverse order. Test run and check for leaks. I would also recommend removing the screen and filter on the bottom to ensure food or detergent buildup did not cause the initial pump failure.

Dishwasher making noise during wash cycle.

Easy to access and replace this motor. Took me 1and 1/2 hours. Not complicated at all. Dishwasher now sounds like new. This is a common problem for this model LG.

Heating element error

My dishwasher had HE error, which means heating element. As a DIYer, I thought I had to replace the heating element. I contacted many stores (including LG) trying to find the heating element, which no-one seemed to carry. After contacting PartsDr, I was informed that the heating element of my model was included in the Pump and Motor Assembly. I received it in 2 days and instead of buying a new dishwasher I repaired the one I have with a fraction of a price of a new dishwasher. Thank you PartsDr.
