Problem
Ice maker made ice but water would get behind ice maker, freeze and prevent the ice maker from working properly. When this happened, a hair dryer would be used to melt all the ice so the unit could be removed and dried. Problem was ice maker was not functioning properly causing the water to continue flowing, eventually overflowing the ice tray and going behind ice maker when the ice maker was full of ice.
Tools
Only tool needed is a Phillips screwdriver. However, I did use a needle nose plyers to line up electrical connection but this is not needed.
Repair & Advice
Turn off electric breaker, Remove ice container, unscrew four screws connecting icemaker to the container refrigerator door and unplug electrical connection. You may have to use hairdryer to melt ice if ice maker is frozen to unit. Once removed, take a picture of electrical connections behind ice maker, including ground wire. Note locations unscrew not working ice maker part, replace ice making part, aligning new wires, reattach ground wire, and screws. Upon completion place ice maker unit in refrigerator door at an angle so the electrical connection can be plugged in. Once plugged in, push ice maker back into place, screwing in the original four screws. It’s been a little over a week of usage and the unit is making ice, turning off when full and no visible ice freezing the ice maker to the door. More time is needed to go by to give an evaluation of the product quality. However at this point so far so good.

Problem
My ice maker would not make ice. I tried to reset it and do a test cycle but it still wouldn’t make ice.
Tools
A Phillips head screwdriver is all I used.
Repair & Advice
I’m kinda handy so it really only took me about 15 minutes to remove and replace the ice maker. Making ice by the buckets now. All good.

Repair & Advice
Easy to replace, since the unit had been removed to see what was happening, did have a problem with the sensor, had to reposition it to have the ice maker work.
