In the process of removing the ice maker mechanism from fridge, commit to memory ( or videotape) the process / steps of removing the screws, While it's a relatively simple process overall, be cautious in not forcing anything. By using You tube, patience, and common sense, you'll save yourself a couple of hundred $ w/out question.

Pretty simple fix. Three screws and unplugging the wire harness. Very easy DIY fix that saved me at least a few hundred.

Problem
Refrigerator ice maker broke, loud sound at end of ice tray dump that required pressing OFF switch on ice maker to stop the noise.
Tools
Screw driver.
Repair & Advice
Instructions or a drawing showing what needed to be removed for the ice maker replacement would have been helpful. The complete ice maker and supporting panel needs to be removed, as the ice maker mounts onto the panel. Must make sure the cables go back correctly and that the water tube is correctly aligned to refill the ice tray.
