Problem
Refrigerator making noise.
Tools
Phillips screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Fridge started making noise and was getting louder every week. Mine is a LG and lots of people complaining about the same thing. I ordered the complete assembly for the simple fact that I was afraid if I broke the plastic housing taking it apart. It didn’t break but I was so glad that I ordered it this way for the simple fact that I did not realize that there is 2 fans in the assembly. I would of been extremely disappointed if I would of ordered the wrong fan only part. The 138.00 I spent on the assembly was not really that much more than buy the 2 fans separately. It also cuts down on the amount of time to change the part. I was able to unplug the fridge and empty the contents into coolers while I changed the part out. Spent more time cleaning the freezer drawers and tub assembly then replacing the part. If you have any type of mechanical ability and watch a YouTube video of replacing the part it’s easy to do.

Problem
I had an error code (ER1F) on my refrigerator.
Tools
Phillips screwdriver & flashlight. Unplug refrigerator after you remove food.
Repair & Advice
I had an error code (ER1F) on my Kenmore Elite (Actually made by LG). This caused my in the door ice maker to not make ice. First service guy said it is the cooling tower, Incorrect diagnoses cost my wallet total of $430. When I installed the part, same error code. 2nd technician said it was the main computer board. I informed the tech to look at the book, and he said let me check a few things. He said not the board, it was the cooling fan for the freezer. I ordered another part from Parts Dr., and it was identical! Installed and cleared the code and now I have ice!
Remove all freezer drawers. This fan assembly is in the top rear of the freezer section. Remove the drawers and the freezer rails, 3 Phillip screws each side. The unit snaps into place so pull the bottom of the unit out and unplug (they do have latches so don’t force unplugging them, use a flashlight to correctly see the tabs and remove accordingly) 4 wiring plugs. They are error proofed, you cannot mix them up. Do the steps in reverse and it’s done.
