Trash compactor would not operate

My Whirlpool trash compactor began having problems about 18 monts ago. Since I am quite "Handy" and fairly technically inclined, I was able to remove, repair and replace the control switch. This was done a couple of times over that same period of time, but the switch was finally in a state that would not let me repair it. When the unit first had the problem, we found a control switch, but the cost was over $100 which was the reason I decided to rebuild the switch (it is a mechanical switch vs an electronic unit) PartsDr.com had the control switch exact replacement part which I believe in an OEM part at a reasonable price. It took me about 4 minutes to replace the switch, re-attach the front panel, plug the unit in and test it. The only negative I can relate would be that it took a little bit longer for the part to arrive than I am use to, however, part of the delay was in the actual delivery, and NOT PartsDr.com in that the tracking showed it was going to be delivered on a Friday, then again on Monday but actually arrived on Monday

Tras compactor would continue running after finishing cycle and would gve manually stop each time

Had beem a probkem for a while and the plastic over the buttons was partially worn thru. Someone told me to change out the switched ad so I searched google and found your site with the part for appliance that is over 22 years old. Had no clue but took a chance and was real impressed. The part came in few days - think it was just 2 to 3 at most. I installed the part in about 5 minutes and everthing is back to normal and my wife happy - and therefore so am I. If I need a part in the future I know were to look
