Small, flat head screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
The coupling is reverse threaded, i.e., it tightens by turning to the left. The space between the coupling and the base of the blender is too thin to get a wrench in to grip the shaft, but the included directions recommended inserting the screwdriver tip into the space is prying up in a continual motion around the coupling. That didn't make any sense to me as the shaft did have threads on it. However, I did as directed and the old coupling did pop off as I worked my way around it. It took approximately five or six lifts on the screwdriver. I then screwed the new coupling on and it worked as advertised.
