Repair & Advice
I unplugged the machine. I pulled off the two bolts that hold the lower panel in place and tested the heating coil, the high temp limit switch and the cycle switch. I found that the cycle switch. Was the culprit. No continuity. (Plenty of YouTube videos out there if you look around…. I’m no brainiac). I ordered the whole panel from Parts Dr. Why not right? Because next week the heating coil will fail. BYW- I took a look at my tub rollers and drive belt while I was there. They looked fine. But they are on my radar. Anyway… the parts came in maybe 4 or five days and it literally took five minutes to install the new assembly. There were extra wires in the kit, but my wires were still in great shape. Just a plug and play operation. Just like that….done! Hero for a day!
As a side note. This was in a speed Queen dryer. These are awesome machines. You fix them. You don’t throw them away like you might with another brand. The washer actually uses water! Imagine that! I get my clothes dirty. Real dirty. So I want them to actually agitate in a good quantity of water. Same for the rinse cycle. Buy a speed Queen. And when the old girl finally breaks…. Get parts from Parts Doctor. Go find a YouTube video if your dryer isn’t heating and even if you don’t have a multi meter….. I bet the heating coil kit with the included parts I mentioned above will fix your problem.
I do not work for parts Dr. I randomly found them
Online.
PS- your model number is probably on a sticker just inside the door on your dryer. But if you gotten this far you may know that already.
