Problem
Problem= washing machine will not start. This is preceded by failed attempts at locking the front door ( multiple clicking noise ).
Tools
Philips screw driver, torx ( T20 ) screw driver, and needle nose pliers.
Repair & Advice
UNPLUG THE UNIT. Access to the switch is thru the front door in the 3 o'clock Position. It is held there by 3 torx screws. The Philips screw driver is only needed IF the front door cannot be opened. The bottom panel secured by 2 Philips head screws must be removed. Then, you have to reach up to the level of the switch and mechanically unlock the door by pulling down on the bottom tab of the switch. IF the front door is NOT locked, you just need to removed the door seal by removing the wire retainer holding the seal ( retainer goes around the circumference ). Loosen the seal closest to the switch. Remove the switch by unscrewing the torx screws. Unclip the electrical connectors. Connect the new switch and reinstall. At the end, make sure the door seal is seated correctly.
