Problem
The trash compactor's motor was not shutting off when the ram reaches the top of stroke.
Tools
Cordless impact driver, phillips bit, 1/4" socket bit, and UTube
Repair & Advice
The directional switch is located behind the control panel on the front side of the trash compactor. Two phillips screws behind the slide out trash bin holds the control panel in place. If a right angle drive is available the 1/4" hex screws that hold the switch in place come right out. Remove the 1/4" spade connections one at a time and place them on the new switch. Again the screws that hold the switch in place will go back quickly with a right angle drive.

Problem
My trash compactor would not shut off. It kept running at the top.
Tools
Phillips head screwdriver and 1/4 inch socket.
Repair & Advice
I took the machine top off and the front panel. I found the directional switch which I replaced. This did not solve the problem. I proceeded to take the switch on front off and apart. The start button was hung up. Filed the points and repositioned the contacts. Runs like a champ.
